The 1989 Presto Ice Cream Makers / Presto Tivolis season was the 15th season of the franchise in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
Off-Season Changes(Draft Picks)
- Selected Zaldy Realubit, Hernani Demigillo and Salvador Ramos from the Rookie Draft
- Assistant Coach Bong Go became head coach of Presto Ice Cream, while former coach Baby Dalupan was given a new role as Team Manager.
- Three of the league pioneers and members of the famed Crispa Redmanizers, Fortunato Co, Philip Cezar and Bernie Fabiosa, were no longer signed. with no takers leaving PBA followers wondering on the plight of three of the only remaining 7 originals who started in the league in 1975.

- Padim Israel, Willie Generalao and Totoy Marquez, formerly of Purefoods Hotdogs
- Marte Saldana of Alaska Milk
- Manny Victorino, comebacking player of Presto.
Occurrences
- The "Maestro" Baby Dalupan, who openly said that coaching is what makes him happy and his only profession, accepted the offer to coach the Purefoods Hotdogs and left the Gokongwei ballclub he led to five championships from 1984-1987.
- After failing to advance in the Open Conference finals, with all the hype and high expectations and then got eliminated in the All-Filipino, losing their last eight games. Coach Bong Go was replaced by the comebacking Jimmy Mariano, the team's head coach back in 1983.
- The team carry a new product Presto Tivolis starting the Fiesta All-Filipino Conference.
Key Dates
Open Conference
- March 5: Opening Game of the PBA's 15th.Season, Presto Ice Cream defeated Alaska Milk, 118-108.
- March 28: Allan Caidic equalled the most points in one quarter (first set by Atoy Co in 1982) by scoring 26 points in the first quarter alone, and finished with 42 points to lead Presto to a 123-112 win over Anejo Rum 65. Import Walker Russell registered his second triple-double of 30 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists.
- April 16: Presto handed San Miguel Beer its first loss of the tournament, 109-100 after a 10-game sweep in the eliminations.
- April 18: Walker Russell had 43 points, 19 rebounds and 18 assists to lead Presto to a 131-124 win over Purefoods, and spoil the debut of their former Team Manager and now calling the shots for Hotdogs, Baby Dalupan.
- April 25: Allan Caidic erupted for a conference-high 45 points, while Walker Russell dished out his seventh triple-double performance of 41-10-12 to bolster Presto's finals chances with a 143-135 victory over Formula Shell.
All Filipino Conference
- June 29: Presto Tivoli defeated San Miguel Beer, 113-108 for its second win in three starts, while giving the beermen its first loss in four games.
Reinforced Conference
- October 1: Import Terrance Bailey debut with 61 points in the Opening Game of the Third Conference, as Presto Tivoli scored a 153-142 win over Anejo Rum, which got 68 points from their import Carlos Briggs.
- October 8: Terrance Bailey scored 73 points in Presto's 157-145 win over Formula Shell.
Notable Game of the Year
Reinforced Conference
- November 2, 1989: Allan Caidic shattered the all-time high scoring mark for locals by erupting 68 points in Presto's 175-159 victory over Alaska Milk at the start of the Reinforced semifinals.
- Caidic also reset Atoy Co's record in individual scoring in one quarter by one point as he finished with 27 and became the league's undoubted top three-point gunner with a record 15 triples, breaking Hills Bros import Jose Slaughter's 14 hits registered two years ago.
- Caidic also tied Ricardo Brown's output of 41 points in a half in an amazing display of markmanship that had the capacity crowd roaring in approval.
- With Caidic's 15 triples, Presto set an all-time high of 18 triples with Bailey converted two and Joy Carpio had one, Terrence Bailey also set an all-time high of 20 assists in that game.
